Logging

When you access this or other websites, you transmit data to the web server via your internet browser.
The following data are recorded during an ongoing communication connection between your internet browser and our web server:
  • date and time of your access to the site
  • name of the requested file
  • page from which the file was requested
  • access status (file transmitted, file not found, etc.)
  • web browser and operating system used
  • full IP address of the accessing computer
  • data volume transferred.
These data are stored for technical security reasons, in particular for preventing attempts to attack the web server. Legal basis: Art. 4(1) of the Bavarian Data Protection Act (BayDSG 2018); Art. 6 of the GDPR. After seven days at the latest, the data will be anonymized by shortening the IP address at domain level, making it impossible to identify individual users. The data are exclusively processed for this purpose, in anonymous form for statistical purposes; they will neither be compared with other data sets nor transmitted, in whole or in part, to third parties.

Cookies

When accessing this website, cookies (small files) with different lifetimes will be stored on your hard disk. These cookies will be used exclusively to recognize you during this and future visits to this website. Legal basis: Art. 4(1) of the Bavarian Data Protection Act (BayDSG 2018); Art. 6 of the GDPR.

Active components

Active components such as Javascript and Java applets are used for the information provided on the website. You can deactivate this function in your browser.
YouTube channel
Only deactivated images of the YouTube channel are embedded by default, which produce no automatic connection with the YouTube servers. Thus the operator does not receive any data from the user when the website is viewed. The user does not give his consent for data to be transferred to the operator concerned until he enables the play-back of the videos by clicking on “Permanent activation”. In order to save the settings desired by the user, a cookie is placed. Consequently, the videos are active and can be played by the user.

Analysis of user behaviour (Matomo webtracking system)
Software programmes for analyzing user behaviour will be used in anonymous mode only. For this purpose, your IP address will be anonymized before analyzing. These programmes enable the operator of the website to collect and analyze various statistical data in detail. After completion of the analysis, the raw data collected will be deleted after six months at the latest. The analysis is conducted using Matomo, a web analytics system operated by the IT Service Centre of the Free State of Bavaria.
If you do not consent to the detailed collection and analysis of your statistical data, please uncheck the following option:

Collection of additional data

You may enter personal or business data. Your data are encrypted during transmission using SSL software and thus protected from third party access.
When ordering publications, your address will be used for this purpose only. Legal basis: Art. 4(1) of the Bavarian Data Protection Act (BayDSG 2018); Art. 6 of the GDPR. You may also place an order over the phone and/or by post. Personal or business data stored for ordering purposes will be deleted after three years at the latest.

E-Mail

Any unencrypted emails you send to us might be read by third parties during transmission. As a rule, we cannot verify your identity and have no way of knowing the author of an email. For this reason, communication by email is not legally secure. As do many email providers, we apply filters to prevent unsolicited advertising (spam filters), which occasionally classify emails as spam by mistake and delete them. Emails containing malware (viruses), however, will always be deleted automatically.
If you wish to transmit messages that require protection, we recommend that you encrypt and sign them in order to prevent unauthorized access and tampering during transmission, or send the message by conventional post. You can send S/MIME encrypted emails to us using the following encryption certificate:

Please let us know whether and in what format we may send you encrypted emails in response to your messages and, if this is not possible, whether you accept unencrypted replies to your emails. If your computer does not accept encrypted emails, please provide your postal address so that we can respond to your confidential messages.
